How do I reset my camera to factory settings?

Resetting an Arecont Vision camera to factory settings can be achieved through the built-in web interface.

  1. Access the camera's web interface by typing the IP in your web browser. 
  2. Under the Administration or System tab, click on Restore to Factory Default.

Once the camera reboots, all settings on the camera will be restored to factory default. Note that the IP address of the camera will remain the same when performing a reset provided the most recent IP change has been committed to flash memory.

Unfortunately, all Arecont cameras do not have hardware reset button at this moment.

Another 2 ways to do the factory default will be either from AV100 software or do a firmware re-flash.

You will need AV100 software installed to your computer first before start this operations. If you don't have AV100 software, you can download: It will be under "Legacy Software" and file name will be AV100 setup under AV100. You will need to download the software and installed to your computer.

Instructions to reset camera with AV100 software:

  1. Install AV100 to the computer which have direct connection to the camera.
  2. Run the set up camera option in the software
  3. Make sure you installed the camera and saying install, online
  4. Click save & exit
  5. Run the Live video option
  6. Waiting for the video came up. You have to have a live video out of software in order to proceed.
  7. Right click into the live video -> setting -> factory default

Instructions to reflash the camera firmware:

Please download the firmware loader software or AV IP utility software thru the link below and follow the instructions to upgrade or downgrade the firmware of your camera.

  1. connect the camera directly thru POE injector or to the same POE switch.
  2. stop all the recording for this camera, No NVR, No web page, No AV software, No VPN, No VLAN, No Anti-virus software, No security policy
  3. open the firmware loader software or AV IP utility and click find camera or discover broadcast
           Note: If you have single sensor camera, you can do the upgrade thru web page of the camera. If this does not work, please try                the firmware loader.
       4. click upgrade firmware and browse the file

           Note: If you are using AV IP Utility, you will need to click update camera and select firmware update to browse the file.
       5. wait for it finished
       6. if you still have errors during the update, please restart the computer and run safe mode with network connection. Then, use the             firmware loader again to load the firmware.
